Privacy policy

1. Who is responsible

Salma Rabbata, trading as Salma Studio, Laanderhof 44, 5351 CN Berghem, Chamber of Commerce (KvK) no. 42121812, is responsible for the processing of personal data as described in this policy.

2. What data I collect

If you fill in the trial lesson or contact form on this website, I collect the details you enter yourself: your name, email address, phone number if provided, the lesson you are interested in and any message you include. If you contact me in another way, for example by email, phone or WhatsApp, I keep the details that result from that contact.

This website does not itself place any tracking or advertising cookies and does not use visitor analytics.

3. What I use this data for

I use your data solely to contact you about a trial lesson or piano lessons, to carry out a lesson agreement and, where necessary, to comply with legal obligations such as keeping records for the Dutch Tax Administration (Belastingdienst). Your data will not be used for marketing unless you have separately consented to this.

4. Retention period

I keep students' data for as long as the lesson agreement runs and afterwards for as long as necessary for my records, for example the statutory retention period of seven years for financial data. Data from a trial lesson request that does not lead to lessons is kept for a maximum of one year.

5. Sharing with third parties

I never sell or rent your data to third parties. Data is only shared when this is required by law, or with a party I engage to run this website or my administration, such as the hosting provider of this website.

6. Instagram on this website

On the homepage I show a number of Instagram posts using Instagram's official embed feature. Instagram (Meta) may collect technical data as soon as these posts appear on screen, even if you don't have an Instagram account yourself. This happens outside my control; see Meta's privacy policy for more information. Links to WhatsApp and Google Maps on this website open the service concerned in a new window; the privacy policy of that service applies there.

7. Security

I take appropriate measures to protect your data against loss or unauthorised access, such as a secure (https) connection on this website.

8. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct or delete your data, and the right to object to its use. If you would like to exercise these rights, please contact me using the details below. If you disagree with how I handle your data, you can also lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

9. Changes to this policy

I may update this privacy policy from time to time, for example when this website gets new features. The date at the top of this page shows when the policy was last updated.
